I am Ruth, and have been cleaning since I could earn pocket money!
From scrubbing the kitchen at home to my first weekend and summer jobs, cleaning narrow boats on the canal near my home or making kennels and food bowls alike sparkle at a boarding kennel. (They could have paid me in doggie play time alone and I wouldn't have minded!😍 )
I have always enjoyed getting things back to clean.
Even as adulthood dawned, and work life bekoned and my career turning to hospitality, customer care and experience always boiled down to the basics. Each customer on every visit deserved the best experience possible.
I lead teams to provide the enviromnent and service to each customer as if they were the first of the day. A spotless environment and attentive staff was my contribution to customers choosing to spend their time with the business.
I couldn't help myself! I ended up also working for the service that cleaned the premisis and eventually after organically aquiring domestic clients of my own, I transitioned into being a full time self employed cleaner and Pristine Property Services was born in 2002.
From early beginnings of me and my rucksack of materials on the bus, cleaning always sustained my income and although hospitality became the hobby, ( I just couldn't stay out from behind the bar, I love people and pints!🍻 ). I feel incredably luck that I've been able to do something I love throughout my working life.
In the following years I was fortunate to always have more work than I had time for, mostly because of loyal longstanding clients, I rarely had the openings to take on new work. But the business and expertise did grow as I got mobile and had the pleasure of working with some wonderful friends to increase capacity. And cherish maintainig more homes and supporting clients.
I loved my little business and it supported my home life where my priorities lay. However like my clients, as life progresses priorites change, bodies age, and responsabilities of evolve. New skills are learned and new dreams bubble to the surface. And with the arrival of 2020 I was beginning to imaginge and implement the vision of my business with myself in a different role.
Did COVID effect my plan? Yes a little, as the masses got furloughed and all of a sudden so many peole were turning their hand to the cleaning sector. I was inclinded to differentiate my business from those that may have only been in it for the short term and those that did not have as much knowledge or experience in the industry, especially in the domestic sector.
Whilst not the most Richard Branson of moves, I'm thankful my newly incorporated business was just the right size for me to "furlough" my co workers while I continued to service, and was able to shop for the most vunrable clients that where shielding from the beginning of lockdown and unabe to do the tasks that we did for them. I opted to keep my skills close to home throughout the pandemic. Doing what I could to protect my staff and clients for the better to times to come for when the world emerged from lockdown. Rather than scale into commercial areas I did not plan on servicing long term. With the exception of having the pleasure of maintaining COVID safe environments in communal areas of retirment appartments. This was work that aligned with the values that we hold dear, of being able to thrive in your home!
You don't have a job just to pay a mortgage. And you don't buy a home just to spend all your spare time cleaning it. We are here to help uou with thore chores big and small.
I believe Pristine is Clean.
From my point of view, dousing a home in products and scents is not clean. Some are potentially harmful to clients, the cleaners and the environment. Not to mention the beautiful decor and beloved belongings!
I believe in safely removing dust, dirt, residues and pathogens from surfaces with a sustainable ecofriendly approach to leave your home as good as new , fresh, safe and clean .
Revealing a home’s beauty and the character of those who live there is what I thrive on.
After initially taking on some commercial contracts it has only cemented in me my passion for the homes people live in! Not only do I have a passion for geeking out over the science of cleaning and the intricacies of how to care for the plethora of materials found in the home environment.
Most importantly, I love to see what people achieve with the mental and physical freedom of using our services. And the positive impact that spreads to them and the people in their lives.
And so Pristine has become the Cheshire-based Domestic Specialist you are reading about today. We do not spread ourselves into any and every sector of cleaning. Home is where the Heart is.
